The Canadian Hockey League is an umbrella organization for three Canadian Major Junior "A" Tier I hockey leagues for players of 15 to 20 years of age.
It is the chief development league for the National Hockey League.
More than half the players in the National Hockey League for the 2002-2003 season had played in the CHL, and as a result the CHL leagues are usually considered the world's top junior hockey leagues.

Hockey was his main sport for the very sportsman likeathlete excelled in a variety of other sports and he was inducted into the Newfoundland and Labrador Sports Hall of Fame in 1978.

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League is re-introducing random drug tests in the wake of recent reports of rampant drug use among players.
Following an investigation, the newspaper reported ephedrine, creatine, amphetamines and various relaxants as substances being used by some of the league's 380 players, who range in age from 16 to 20.
To combat the problem, the league said its new rules will include making results of drug tests public and subjecting players to a five-game suspension for each offence.

He is now with his fifth National Hockey League team starting with New Jersey then to Montreal and the Islanders then on to the Leafs and now to the Florida Panthers.
The fate of professional hockey in St. John's remains as uncertain as the state of Toronto's front office.

There is a hockey team in Raleigh Durham, NC, one in Charlotte, NC, one in Northern Virginia, and one in Laurel, MD (mine, the Chesapeake Bay Lightning) - all of which are far from C'ville.
My 10-year-old daughter was asked by her ice hockey coach to join a roller hockey league that he was organizing at a local indoor raquet club.
USA hockey has a girls: Squirt division which is for girls 12 and under PeeWee division which is for girls 15 and under Midget division which is for girls 19 and under After 19 they are considered Senior players.

The Alberta Football Association (later known as the Central Alberta Football League) was formed on May 14, in Red Deer, with J.A. Fairley of Innisfail as president.

Gausden, president of the Toronto and District League, Tom Robertson, secretary-treasurer of the Ontario Football Association, and Norton H. Crow, secretary of the Amateur Athletic Union.
The league eventually went coast to coast with teams in Halifax and Victoria, but folded at the end of the 1992 season.

According to the Newfoundland Amateur Hockey Association (NAHA) there are 25 teams for ages 19 and under in Newfoundland and Labrador with 762 registered players.
That doesn't count the number of females that play on mens or boys teams or high school hockey.
There has been a high school hockey league in Newfoundland since 1998.

Marshall was called to the Newfoundland and Labrador Bar in April of 1986, having served articles under Daniel E. Williams, Q.C..
Marshall was President of the St. John's Caps Hockey Club from 1986 to 1989, and he served as General Manager and Assistant Coach of the Newfoundland hockey team at the 1987 Canada Winter Games.

Davidson, 34, was an assistant coach with Team Canada at the 1994 Women's World Hockey Championship in Lake Placid, NY when Canada won the third of four straight gold medals in that championship.
The evaluation camp was held in Calgary at the Canadian Hockey Centre at the Father David Bauer.
