News 10 Now general manager Ron Lombard says his channel mistakenly thought the Medicare release from the Department of Health and Human Services was a report from a news service.
Lombard notes that News 10 Now usually adds its own narration to news-service features, saying this is a common TV practice that provides “consistency of voices and faces” in a newscast.
No channel in Syracuse other than News 10 Now was mentioned in the report by The New York Times, which noted that use of video news releases, or VNRs, is difficult to trace because there is no comprehensive archive of TV news reports.

It may be that the time has come, as it did at the end of the 1920s, to reconsider the routes of the mountain roads and realign them with new building techniques and technology to fit the new, heavier types of vehicles traveling them.
