	NexTView - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		NexTView is an Electronic Programme Guide for the analog domain.
		The transmission protocol is based on teletext, however using a compact binary format instead of preformatted text pages.The advantage compared to paper-based TV magazines is that you have an immediate overview what's running Now and Next, plus you can search through the programme database by many different filter categories.
		The nxtvepg software enables you to use nexTView with your PC too.

		The award of the NextView contract, announced by the NGA Sept. 30, enables Orbimage to begin work on a highly capable imaging satellite that is scheduled for launch in early 2007.
		Jaan Loger, director of the NGA's InnoVision directorate and acquisition executive for NextView, said the contract award will be the last under the program, which was designed foster the development of a new generation of highly capable commercial imaging satellites.
		Space Imaging was depending on the NextView program to help finance its next spacecraft and had been in negotiations for a contract earlier this year.

	NGA Plans Second NextView Award By End of September
		The NextView program was designed to give companies the financing they need to build satellites capable of distinguishing objects as small as half a meter across.
		DigitalGlobe already has begun work on its NextView satellite, dubbed WorldView, which the company said in a March 23 press release would be launched "no later than 2006." At the time of the first NextView contract award, DigitalGlobe and the NGA said the satellite would be launched before the end of 2005.
		Herring would not comment on the reason for the timing discrepancy, but said the announcement "does not preclude that the spacecraft will still launch on schedule." WorldView will be collecting up to 500,000 square kilometers of imagery by late 2006, "the latest date we will be operational," he said.
