		The booklet's the same as before, except all band-pictures are green in the foreground and red in the background, kind of ugly compared to the first blue design.
		My advice is: If you already have Nexus Polaris you don't need this, but if you're a hardcore fan, you might feel that you "need it".
		Nexus Polaris is what the band have described as "Space Metal" and in fact it's dedicated to the essence of x-tra terrestial existence.

		Nexus Polaris is filled with eight epic tunes rife with sweeping melodies dominated by dual guitars and symphonic keyboards.
		As for the lyrics on Nexus, they're fantasy-oriented and high falutin' enough to suit the complexity of the songs.

		As the rare (and perhaps only) example of cosmic metal Covenant's "Nexus Polaris" was a stunning display of fluid keyboards over metallic guitar riffs that skirted melodic fl metal territory without falling prey to the subject matter that most fl metal bands deal with.
		However, the hooks of "Animatronic" are a bit more mainstream than "Nexus Polaris." This is cosmic metal with the future staring you between the eyes - and it's not a pretty sight.
		Keyboards and synths, ever present on "Nexus Polaris," are still quiet evident on "Animatronic", but are more geared to mood setting rather than blazing classically influenced solos.

		As Covenant, this band released two albums, with the first (In Times Before The Night) a rather typical fl metal affair, and the latter (Nexus Polaris) widely regarded as a classic in the fl metal field, though by this time the band was broadening its style and was already uncomfortable being labelled as fl metal.
		Finally, 2003 saw the release of their proper followup to Animatronic, in the form of S.E.T.I. Their progression away from fl metal is now complete, as the band is now firmly in the techno/electronic metal arena, somewhat like a cross between the recent albums of Atrocity and Theatre Of Tragedy.
		Again, anyone expecting their recent material to sound anything like Nexus Polaris might be disappointed, but their new direction is intriguing, and S.E.T.I. is an interesting album in a not so crowded field.

		Even though Covenant is a sort of a supergroup consisting of players who were involved with the notorious Norwegian fl metal scene from its early days, they break all of the conservative rules of fl metal with no shame at all.
		Filled with crunchy riffs, neo-classical-inspired leads, and keyboard fills, Nexus Polaris succeeds in being eclectic and structureless without falling into the usual pitfalls of its kind: Being mapless and therefore confusing.
		Nexus Polaris doesn't really have any standout tracks (apart from "The SulphurFeast" and "The Last of Dragons," which are the best), but Nexus Polaris is excellent because it really doesn't have any bad tracks.

		With members for bands such as Mayhem, Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth (even though the latter confines itself to oral contributions of Sarah), this just has to be good.
		Although often blamed for being too accessible, not enough fl metal, "Nexus Polaris" has its appeal in the great songs.
		Lyric-wise they don't say a lot and are riddled with English errors (having been a teacher of English I cannot help but notice these things), but musically it pleases me infinitely.

		From the first riff in the opening song Mirror's Paradise, you can tell that this album is less complex than Nexus Polaris, replacing it with a more straightforward sound, but for some reason this makes it heavier and makes the listener much more prone to headbanging along with the chugging riffs.
		Lex Icon's vocals are different as well, incorporating a stronger vocal approach with a more diverse singing voice instead of the just the fl metal scream, along with a very high pitched scream that he does sporadically throughout the album.
		Nexus Polaris was my introduction to the band.

		But there are two little things I am just not happy about The quality of the music on animatronic is simply not nearly as good as on Nexus Polaris.
