Ngong Ping Skyrail is a 5.7km cableway supported by eight towers along the cableway route.

Following a serious service interruption during trial operations last Saturday, Ngong Ping 360 has suspended further trial operations while undertaking a full and comprehensive investigation into the cause of the interruption and any contributing factors.
For safety reasons the decision was made not to evacuate passengers while repair works were carried out, and communication systems in place allowed the company to maintain contact and keep the guests informed on the repair progress.
In view of the delay to the trial operations programme and a need to allow more time to investigate the incident, the opening ceremony and public opening of Ngong Ping 360 which was scheduled for 24 June 2006 has been postponed.

 Tertiary sewage treatment set for Lantau
Director of Drainage Services Raymond Cheung said tertiary-level treatment was given to the sewage collected in Ngong Ping to protect the environmentally sensitive area and the quality of the water gathering ground for Shek Pik Reservoir.
Mr Cheung said part of the treated effluent will be reused for flushing public toilets in Ngong Ping and at the cable car terminal.
To ensure the Ngong Ping Sewage Treatment Plant is in harmony with the environment, the department has given special attention to its aesthetic design.
