TheHendonMob.com :: View topic - Poker Europe Inaccurate as Usual
I can only assume that Nic Szeremeta was is his usual drunken state when he read my book ‘Swimming With the Devilfish’ as he says in Poker Europa that I used to be a small time thief and also says that my escape route from the back streets of Hull was provided by playing poker.
Although Nic was involved with the EPPA, which was probably a bit before it’s time, I am sure all his intentions were honourable and it certainly wasn’t a scam.
Nic has asked me to post and point out that he left the EPPA over a year before it disbanded and that when the EPPA folded there were some funds in the organisation.

Some Random Poker Thoughts - Poker Hendon Mob
If Nic Bloggs says something is for "good of poker" you can bet you bottom dollar it is actually for the good of Nic Bloggs.
When a grizzled old veteran talks sneeringly in interviews prior to tv tournaments about "internet players" it is a pretty safe bet that the majority of players spoken about so disparagingly play a hell of alot better than the veteran does.
Is it because Nic dislikes the people the PB slags off and is friendly with the people he accuses me of slagging off.

With antes of 2,000 and blinds of 5,000 and 10,000, we had three players in immediate danger- and they were all forced to put up the blinds on the first three hands.
It was master-of-the-short-stack Nic Szeremeta (friends of his claim that that he is ALWAYS short-stacked) who busted out first, when Nic's steal raise got called by Johan holding K9, and who needed no help to win.
The next one to depart was Sigi Stockinger, who faced two opponents checking their hands down to the river, and it was Martin who busted him out by making a straight.

My name is Nic Szeremeta, I am 58 years of age and have been playing poker for almost 40 years ("only useful thing I learned in college").
My major accomplishment is surviving all these years and adapting to the ongoing changes in poker standards (standard of play in both cash games and tournaments).

It has even been given a name - the "Aussie Pool Booster" - because of the effect it could have on the size of both fields and prize pools.
The idea is basically very simple and sprang from a discussion in the Crown Melbourne bar between Bendigo, Maurie Pears boss of Poker Network and Nic Szeremeta of Poker Europa.
The $64,000 question under discussion was what could be done to make it possible for smaller bankroll players and beginners to compete against the professionals and high rollers on an equal basis.
