Sir Nicholas Raymond Winterton, (born March 31, 1938, Rugeley, Staffordshire) is a British politician, and Conservative Member of Parliament for Macclesfield.
Sir Nicholas is considered a right-wing Tory, and opposed the reduction of the age of consent for same-sex sex to 16, the ban on fox hunting and supported Section 28.
Sir Nicholas is married to Ann Winterton, MP for the neighbouring constituency of Congleton.

Winterton, himself a Tory MP, was the only one standing by the disgraced Shadow Minister for Rural Affairs after she was shunted to the backbenches amid a row over her remark that Pakistanis were "10 a penny" in Britain.
Winterton was able to joke about `Pakis' was because for her and many like her `Paki' is only a word — they are not people.

Nicholas is a keen all-round sportsman and was a playing member of the Sutton Coldfield Rugby Football Club and he played for the Combined Services XV in Berlin during his National Service.
