His ideas -- and the way he presents them -- recently led to a Pulitzer Prize for Anderson, who at 38 is a syndicated cartoonist based at The Courier-Journal in Louisville, Ky. His cartoons have appeared in Newsweek, The New York Times and The Washington Post, among other papers.

Posted by: Gary Denton at April 18, 2006 12:55 PM WEll, Nick, "the famous Toles cartoon" was a sick-minded piece of garbage that even the Army's Joint Chiefs of Staff found so despicable they set a precedent by writing a letter back to the Wash Post condemning it.

Several of the commentors seems to be of the opinion that Nick Anderson's cartoons attack the men and women who serve; in this latest some seem to feel that he is making fun of veteran amputee's.
