Nick Gilder (born December 21, 1951 in London, England) first came to prominence as frontman for the Canadian glam rock band Sweeney Todd.
Gilder's songs have been used in several movies such as Youngblood with Rob Lowe and The Wraith with Charlie Sheen, and in TV series like Sex and the City and That '70s Show.
Returning to Canada in the mid-1990s, Gilder quickly became a favorite in the classic rock music festivals across Canada, where he continues to record and tour.

At the age of 10, Nick Gilder's family settled once and for all in Vancouver after having made previous voyages to and from England.
Undaunted, Chrysalis sent Gilder and McCulloch into the studio to record new material, and his first solo album, 'You Know Who You Are' was released in 1977.
Gilder actually released another solo album that year from his homebase in British Columbia called 'Stairways' on the Spinner label.

Gilder and McCulloch bowed out of Sweeney Todd due to internal squabbling, and travelled south to test their power-pop sound in the more lucrative waters of Los Angeles.
