NickGilder (born December 21, 1951 in London, England) first came to prominence as frontman for the Canadian glam rock band Sweeney Todd.
Gilder's songs have been used in several movies such as Youngblood with Rob Lowe and The Wraith with Charlie Sheen, and in TV series like Sex and the City and That '70s Show.
Returning to Canada in the mid-1990s, Gilder quickly became a favorite in the classic rock music festivals across Canada, where he continues to record and tour.

At the age of 10, NickGilder's family settled once and for all in Vancouver after having made previous voyages to and from England.
Undaunted, Chrysalis sent Gilder and McCulloch into the studio to record new material, and his first solo album, 'You Know Who You Are' was released in 1977.
Gilder actually released another solo album that year from his homebase in British Columbia called 'Stairways' on the Spinner label.
NickGilder fashioned one of his stories around the wasted life of a street-wise Lolita ("Drinking champagne is her pastime/Making love is her mainline") in "Hot Child in the City." His platinum-selling single debuted on
Gilder and McCulloch bowed out of Sweeney Todd due to internal squabbling, and travelled south to test their power-pop sound in the more lucrative waters of Los Angeles.
Gilder was paired with glitter pop producer Mike Chapman to record three tracks in three days.
Gilder returned to LA and began work with producers Peter Coleman (Suzi Quatro, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Pat Benatar, The Knack) and Mike Chapman, whose credits also included the likes of Suzi Quatro, as well as Blondie and Sweet.
Gilder's inner-circle admiration was by this time already growing, when Benatar did her version of "Rated X", a year after the German version of "Hot Child" by Deiter Bohlen and two after Suzi Quatro redid "Roxy Roller".
Gilder's pop sensibility still was evident tho when "Metro Jets" was released as the second single.
