  Nicolaus Tideman - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nicolaus Tideman (born August 11, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois) is a Professor of Economics at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Tideman was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Harvard University from 1969-1973, during which time from 1970-1971 he was a Senior Staff Economist for the President's Council of Economic Advisors.
Tideman also devised the Independence of Clones criterion which both of his methods satisfy.

 CPO-STV - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
CPO-STV was invented by Nicolaus Tideman and aims to overcome these defects by incorporating some of the positive features of Condorcet's method, a voting system designed for single-winner elections, into STV.
This is the rational number equal to the total number of valid votes cast, divided by the number one greater than the total number of seats to be filled.

Take the two research papers that Lambert discusses by William Bartley and Mark Cohen as well as Florenz Plassmann and Nicolaus Tideman.
My guess is that these authors would not recognize their research from the way Lambert describes them.
Florenz Plassmann and Nicolaus Tideman conclude that their results "indicate that more guns generally lead to fewer rather than more murders, and that it would be wrong to dismiss right-to-carry laws on the ground that more guns mean more danger, without considering their discouraging effect on potential murders."

He gave us a little heads up of what is coming down here.
But I mean I was a little bit surprised at some of the comments that were in there, and certainly the one where Dr. Tideman was completely confused -- confused his entire concept, very misleading.
I don't say it's deliberate, but it certainly is an extreme thing to reduce to writing to one of the leading exponents of dual taxation.
