Mr Doughty told us that EB had come to see him at the end of April and had painted a picture of a board "riven with acrimony." Our attention was drawn to the damage done over the last 2 years of broken promises, ineptitude and the botched floatation.
Doughty received a substantial (sitting) ovation for his presentation and by this stage some of the earlier tension and apprehension was beginning to dissipate.
Doughty replied that he did not feel that it was fruitful to make rash promises and that he felt that one of the reasons that his bid at the time of the takeover was beaten was due to the broken or unattainable promises of the Bridgford plc.
