	Nigel Olsson - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Nigel Olsson (born February 10, 1949Merseyside, England) is a rock drummer best known for his work with Elton John.
		Olsson returned to Elton John's band for good in 2000 as part of his touring band, alternating between drums and backing vocals on certain songs.
		Olsson, never seen on stage without his trademark headphones and gloves, has been said to have a soulful singing voice.

		Olsson had released a solo album in 1971 called Nigel Olsson's Drum Orchestra and Chorus and in the wake of his departure from John's group, he cut a self-titled album for John's Rocket label.
		Olsson spent much of the '90s away from music, aside from the occasional recording session, but in 2000 he rejoined John's band once again and the following year he released a sequel to his debut, Nigel Olsson's Drum Orchestra and Chorus Vol.

		Before joining Elton John, Murray (and drummer Nigel Olsson) were members of the Spencer Davis Group in 1969-1970.
		Murray and Olsson first appeared with Elton on the 1971 album Tumbleweed Connection and were key members of the band through its glory years, including the milestone album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
		In 1975, after recording Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, Murray and Olsson were released from the band; however, both musicians returned in 1981 and toured with Elton for another four years.
