		Though he's passable in his sports car mode, Nightbeat suffers from poor timing in the TF saga: by 1987, interest in the line had begun to tail off, and thus the production value of the toys began to tail off as well.
		Transformers would ultimately get bigger (compare Nightbeat to, say, Bluestreak) before they would get smaller (Micromasters all around!), but with this expansion came the use of plastic in place of the die-cast metal that typified the first few years of TF releases.
		Nightbeat's not the most common TF on the market, but he ain't the most rare either...snagging a complete one will probably run you about $25-ish.

		Nightbeat was one of the last full-sized figures to have a recognizable alternate mode, though the proportions and paint job were much less realistic than earlier characters.

		Nightbeat was not only a blue police car but also a detective, so it made perfect sense to me for him to be 'undercover' as a street car.
		I found there were various comic book/box art renditions of Nightbeat and settled predominantly on Geoff Senior's Nightbeat from the Matrix Quest Marvel comic books as my inspiration.

		NightBeat looks ok in Vehicle form, but the robot mode is just terrible, Exhaust pipes form the legs and handlebars for the head, with a motercycle stuck in between for torso and arms.
		I wonder if Hasbro ran out of ideas then employed a couple of 7 year olds to design what they think would be a great nini-con figure i thought with rollbar hasbro were leaving behind the simplistic ideas but no oh no they just went back to the neolithic times of old.
		Hey for those who think sideswipe and nightbeat should switch names, just wait for the cartoon to do it.
