Nightcrawler is starring in a new monthly series from Marvel Comics, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Darick Robertson.
Although Aguirre-Sacasa didn’t follow Nightcrawler since his earliest days of reading comics, the writer was a quick study on the world of Kurt.
And of course Rucka and Darick did that awesome issue guest-starring Nightcrawler, and I remember thinking: “Man, he’d be great for the Nightcrawler series,” and, so…when I finally asked editors Mike and Stephanie, and they told me it was gonna be Darick, well…that was a great day.

Nightcrawler may look like a blue-skinned demon, but this swashbuckler is one of mankind's guardian angels - using his amazing agility, prehensile tail, and power of teleportation to fight the forces of evil!
Normally we detest action features, but this is true to the comic, and it actually works better than the light-up feature on House of M Spider-Man.
Nightcrawler's skin and his uniform are almost the same color, but there's just enough of a difference that you can tell what's what upon closer inspection - his skin has a slightly grayer tint to it.

If you want to break into comics, the advice is always to aim low, to break in at the bottom and, with an established track record of work, slowly move your way up to the major publishers.
So, it has to be open and accessible to new readers and at the same time showcase Nightcrawler as a fascinating character in his own right and as a representative of this intricate and compelling world of the X-Men.
Nightcrawler is really compelling; he has real motivations, a personality which differentiates him from his teammates, a unique perspective on life, and heroism -- I don't have to sell him.
