Blade (comics) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The character Blade was created in 1973 for Marvel Comics by writer Marv Wolfman and artist Gene Colan and was a supporting character in the 1970s comic Tomb of Dracula.
Blade and the Nightstalkers continued to hunt vampires, believing that it was partially their fault (through their lack of understanding about how to properly use the Montesi Formula) that vampires were being reintroduced into the human world.
Unlike in the comics, Blade's half-vampire nature was very much apparent from the beginning, and he was constantly at odds with it.

Doctor Strange - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Doctor Strange's first namesake comic book, written by Roy Thomas with art by penciler Gene Colan, lasted only until issue #183, by which point in the low-selling series Strange was wearing a full-face cowl in an effort to more resemble a Marvel superhero.
The three were told they were formed to fend off supernatural threats, and only later learned it in fact to prepare for the weakening of the Montesi Formula and the expected return of Dracula.
As the only character aware of the nature of the Amalgam Universe he was the chief opponent of Access, who was attempting to separate the DC and Marvel Universes.

VtM - Characters: The Nightstalkers   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-15)
Drake, on the surface is pleasant and engaging, with a hint of "rich boy playing detective." However, beneath the surface, he is as dedicated to the cause as the others.
Hannibal managed to avoid contact with the supernatural for the next few years, encountering Harker's hunters once, and it was his investigations that led the mage [Dr Strange] to gather Blade and Drake to destroy Dracula [and all the otehr vampires].
In the VtM version of the Nightstalkers, I'd guess that Drac faked his death in the battle with the Magi, and that King got his humanity back temporarily as a side effect of his "diet" and being at ground zero of the spell.

In this film, Blade (Wesley Snipes), a superhuman man, leads a group of vampire hunters known as the Nightstalkers in a life and death crusade against vampires led by a female vampire, Danica Talos (Parker Posey).

The climax of Blade: Trinity is a scene in which Blade and the Nightstalkers battle the vampires in the Phoenix Towers, a spectacular glass and steel building that is the vampires' headquarters.

 UGO.com Film/TV - Top 11 Vampire Hunters: Nightstalkers - Blade: Trinity Super-Feature
The Nightstalkers are the young bloods here, and they've just proven themselves worthy of this Top 11 by their fighting skills in Blade: Trinity, so maybe they'll move up the list in another ten years or so.
For now, we welcome them into the world of vampire hunters and certainly hope we'll be seeing them again soon (maybe in their own spin-off, but more hopefully in Blade: Untitled Fourth Film).
Blade at first refers to these young 'uns as "amateurs" but (of course) soon learns to appreciate all that they offer to his own quest of saving the world from bloodthirsty vamps.

Harker could be a European cell of The Nightstalkers, but however it would be hard to include a character called Harker because of the God Awful problems of copy righting, and whether or not the Company that produced Dracula own the rights to the name.
I don't know, and don't see Goyer penning a script for the Nightstalkers that would be as great as the Ghostbusters, heck i don't see NL giving a NS flick the budget it'll need to be on a level with ghostbusters.
Can't remember his whole background, but he had a run-in with vampires and was left with visions of the future (something that maybe should be left out of the movies), and had silver crosses and occult symbols tattooed over his entire body, meaning no vampire could bite him.

Another "current" comic that I like is Hellshock, the first two issues of which just came out from Image Comics.
I've collected quite a few of the old comic "The Tomb of Dracula" put out by Marvel Comics in the '70s, and these are definitely like a fine wine, getting only better with age.
Although I don't collect any of the "Grendel Tales" comics, the original Grendel by Matt Wagner was quite good, as was the series (at first) from Comico, tho it eventually took a nose-dive for the worse (again, In My Humble Opinion).

The explosion in Nightstalkers #18 that killed Hannibal King and Frank Drake had an odd effect, according to the letters page of Blade I#10; the Dracula that arose from the explosion's wreckage in Blade I#1 was actually a composite being consisting of Frank Drake (Dracula's descendent) and Hannibal King (a vampire).
