		Firstly, even in its revised form Nightwatch is an immense project that, for all intents and purposes, requires the same type of development cycle as any commercial game -- moreso than a commercial game in some respects, since the staff communicates electronically and contribute in their spare time.
		Efforts have been made to ensure the consistency of the Nightwatch storyline and environment with all previous official Half-Life episodes, but in the end the primary driving force is enjoyable gameplay and innovative environments.

		Director Ole Bornedal made a Danish movie called "Nattevagten" in 1994, and Nightwatch is an English remake of the same story from the same director.
		Nightwatch is almost a scene-by-scene refilming of Nattevagten, and actually has nothing at all to do with SE7EN.
		So I don't know if the remake was influenced by SE7EN, but Nightwatch was made not long after Fincher's gloomy noir, and surely seems to be tapping into the same vein.

		The sound in 'Nightwatch', both musically and atmospherically, is perhaps - in skill terms - on par with David Cronenberg's 'Scanners' (You know - remember having to turn the volume UP on late night screenings to catch the dialogue - only to have to scramble for the remote when the visceral 'loud as' scenes erupted?!!).
		In closing, 'Nightwatch' is not for everyone, it requires a fairly stern stomach and an even sterner moralistic base to truly appreciate it's value, but for those who DO choose to accompany Martin on his nightly rounds, there are some seriously fun times to be had.

		'Nightwatch' tells a twisted, claustrophobic tale about a young and very wet-behind-the-ears nightwatchman...
		It was a short piece but it really moved me. Unlike Titanic which takes 3 hours to move people (never saw it so I am not sure if that would even move me) this only took 5 minutes.
