	Nijmegen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Nijmegen (Zuid-Gelders: Nèhméége) (obsolete spellings: Nijmwegen, Nymegen, Nieumeghen — known in German as Nimwegen, French as Nimègue, and Spanish as Nimega) is a municipality and a city in the east of the Netherlands, near the German border.
		The municipality is formed by the city of Nijmegen, incorporating the former villages of Hatert, Hees and Neerbosch, as well as the urban expansion project of Waalsprong, that lies to the north of the river Waal, including the village of Lent and the new suburbs of Nijmegen-Oosterhout and Nijmegen-Ressen.
		Nijmegen is twin town (Sister City) to the cities of Pskov in Russia, Masaya in Nicaragua, and Albany, New York in the United States of America.

	Nijmegen Vierdaagse Walking Group - The Event
		The Nijmegen Vierdaagse, a long distance walking event, was first held in 1909 with approximately 120 participants and in 1928 became international.
		The event is run by the KNBLO, or Koninklijke Nederlandse Bond voor Lichamelijke Opvoeding (which roughly translates into Royal Dutch Organisation for Physical Culture), and takes place in and around the city of Nijmegen, an old Roman town which lies in the South of the Dutch province of Gelderland, approximately 7km from the German border.
		It has a Catholic university and, together with nearby Arnhem, is one of the two gateways to the Netherlands on the lower Rhine.
