Nikoloz (Lasha) Janashia ( November 18, 1931 - September 7, 1982) was a famous Georgian historian and public benefactor.
In 1957 - 1970 he was a Research Fellow (1957-1962) and Senior Research Fellow (1962-1970) of the Institute of History and Ethnology of the Georgian Academy of Sciences (GAS), in 1970 - 1982 a Deputy Director of the Institute of Manuscripts of the GAS, in 1965 - 1982 Associate Professor of the Tbilisi State University.
Nikoloz Janashia was a Scientific Secretary of the Historical Society of Georgia, Member of the Commission of the source studies of the history of Georgia of the Presidium of GAS.

Simon Janashia ( July 13, 1900 - November 5, 1947) was outstanding Georgian historian and public benefactor, one of the founders and Academician of the Georgian Academy of Sciences (GAS), Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor.
In 1941 he was one of the founders of the Georgian Academy of Sciences (GAS), in 1941 - 1947 Vice-President of the Academy and Director of the Institute of History of GAS.
In 1943 Janashia was elected as Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Soviet Union (now the Russian Academy of Science).
