Jeg skulle også ønske at jeg med samme overbevisning som den polske ambassadør kunne forsverge at det ikke finnes noen polakker, etniske eller statsrettslige, som i normal oppfatning av den politisk ideologiske terminologi - nazist, sympatiserer med denne.
Jeg har imidlertid forståelse for at ambassadøren, og også Nils Morten Udgaard, har behov for å påpeke at dette er et sensitivt og vanskelig emne i en nasjon som mer enn noen måtte lide under trykket av først det tyske nazistiske skrekkveldet, og senere den totalitære russiske okkupasjon og kommunisme.

Nils Andreas Boe (September 10, 1913–July 30, 1992) was an American politician who served as the Republican Governor of South Dakota from 1965 to 1969.
Boe was born in Baltic in Minnehaha County, South Dakota and served in the state legislature representing Sioux Falls from 1953 to 1958.

Boe, who was Governor from 1965-1969, was born in Baltic, South Dakota, on Sep. 19, 1913.
Proud of the citizens of his native state and of the region, Boe's envisioned lecture series was his way of telling the people of the Siouxland that they were as deserving as citizens anywhere of sharing in the thinking of the world's great decision-makers.
Boe gave the responsibility of directing the Forum to the Board of Directors of the Center for Western Studies, a study, research and educational resource committed to service the region surrounding Augustana college as well as the campus itself.

SIOUX FALLS - Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, and Susan Dentzer, on-air correspondent with the NewsHour, are the speakers for the 2003 Boe Forum Tuesday, May 13, at Augustana College.
The Boe Forum series of lectures, sponsored by the Center for Western Studies, began in 1995 with now Secretary of State Colin Powell the featured speaker.
The creator of the series, the late Nils Boe, former Governor of South Dakota, established a trust fund in order to bring such world leaders to his home state to “address issues of current national concern and broad public interest,” and he commissioned the Center for Western Studies to carry out the program in perpetuity.

During Boe’s two terms as governor, state aid to schools was substantially increased, a retirement program for state employees was enacted, and a worker training program was begun in an effort to attract new industry to South Dakota.
After leaving office, Boe served as director of the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs in the Executive Office of the President of the United States from 1969 to 1971, and in 1971 he became Chief Judge of the U.S. Customs Court, New York City.

After attending public school in Faribault for two years, the capable young Nils sought out the synod’s more rigorous school at [166] Red Wing, and in 1891 he started his studies at the University of Minnesota at Minneapolis.
L. Boe, president of St. Olaf College, wrote that Rønning’s book "gives us a picture of fifty years that could be painted by no [198] other artist." Theodore Jørgensen of St. Olaf College noted the romantic, poetic tone.

Officials hope a historical group will want to take the old residence for a museum or other public purpose.
Jay Vogt, director of the State Historical Society, noted that the residence had been home to bachelor governors, including Republican Nils Boe, and governors with as many as eight children, such as Democrat Richard Kneip.
He also noted that it was "the childhood home of a boy who grew up to be governor, just like his dad," a reference to the late Gov. George S. Mickelson, who lived in the mansion as a child when George T. Mickelson was governor.
