Nilsiä is a small town and a municipality of Finland.
Nilsiä has become the administrative and commercial centre of Northeast Savonia and it co-operates actively with the city of Kuopio.

NILSI will be set up by July 2005 and will replace the NHSU, NHS Modernisation Agency and NHS Leadership Centre.
A questionnaire was sent out to Chief Executives regarding their requirements of the new institute with a return date to the SHA of 4 February, the national deadline for returns being 11 February 2005.
A copy of the SHA response to the NILSI consultation is attached as a separate document.

 NHSU folds in arm's length review
The NHSU which was hailed as the NHS's corporate university and promised innovative learning from a virtual campus is to fold.
A new Special Health Authority, the NHS Institute for Learning, Skills and Innovation (NILSI), is to replace the NHSU, NHS Modernisation Agency and the NHS Leadership Centre as well as supporting a new Innovation Centre.
NILSI is planned to start up by July next year, and will incorporate the management of a new Innovation Centre that will help to nationally spread new ideas from individual members of the NHS.

The work of the both will be slimmed down and absorbed into a new NHS Institute for Learning, Skills and Innovation (Nilsi), which will "put innovation and learning at the heart" of the health service, said Mr Reid.

My Lords, most people welcomed the idea of the NHS University when it was first mooted because it was particularly designed to help people to get access to education.
What will happen under this new system, with the new organisation, NILSI, to ensure that the low-paid and least-skilled workers, to whom we are all grateful, now really get access to foundation courses, which they have not had thus far with the NHSU?
My Lords, it is worth bearing in mind that, during the three years from April 2003, more than £180 million will be invested in support of NHS learning accounts, NVQs, adult literacy and numeracy and language skills development.
