		Nimrod came along two years after 1995's Insomniac and was the first indication of Green Day's willingness to stretch the boundaries of punk rock.
		EVERY song on this album is great, but here are some of my favorites: hitchin' a ride, the grouch, nice guys finish last, worry rock, scattered, king for a day, walking alone, prosthetic head, and time of your life.
		Another weakness of 'Nimrod' is that it the tracklist whizzes past you before you have the time to appreciate the songs properly.

		After the repetition of Insomniac, Nimrod is a huge step forward for Green Day — at least in part.
		It essentially is a transitional album that's nearly twice as long as any of the group's other discs.
		Worry Rock is still rooted in the band's punk sound, yet it incorporates a bit of country-rock into it with a guitar solo that jangles and falls somewhere between The Byrds and Neil Young.

		Still, Nimrod suffers from being simply too much -- although it clocks in at under 50 minutes, the 18 tracks whip by at such a breakneck speed that it leaves you somewhat dazed.
		With a little editing, Green Day's growth would have been put in sharper relief, and Nimrod would have been the triumphant leap forward it set out to be.

		Nimrod starts slowly, however: the first three songs are all adequate but somewhat rote.

		If this album is anything to go by, then this is a band who likes music to be hard and fast.
		And in the end that is what makes this album average, as opposed to being really good, or just plain good.
		Nimrod is a bit of harmless fun, but ultimately uninspiring.

		By which I mean the band have made a big pile of new songs as good as those on their 1994 breakthrough album -- songs that literally caused a near-riot when Green Day played Boston's Hatch Shell that summer.

		Sure, on their early albums the Ramones, Patti Smith, and even Burma and Gang of Four were all good vocal melodists, but the priority during recording was on the immediacy of performances.

		The best and most beautiful (i hate that word) song on this album is "good riddance(time of your life)" i could listen to that song 1000 times and never get bored of it, you can tell its from the heart.
		But personally, I think if Nimrod can be put in the shadow of those other two albums, then Green Day must be one amazing band, because it is fantastic.
		Jinx, Haushinka and Reject are nearer the end of the album, and are so samey that by this time they just blend into the background and don't stand out at all for me. Take Back is an interesting foray into metal territory but not something I'd listen to the album for.

		This album was the cure for boredom in the lifeless suburb I grew up in.
		Aside from the hits, there was also some great album tracks, such as the lovely "She" and "Pulling Teeth," and "Welcome To Paradise" (a re-recording of the same song off of their "Kerplunk" album) which also received airplay.
		This album was a defining moment in which I learned to appreciate a "full album" as opposed to single tracks.

		Personally I think this is the best Green Day album, the others are also better in so many ways but this brings out the true Green Day.
