It's nearly eight years since Ninian Park had a major facelift during the Rick Wright era and it's in as much need of improvement now as it was back then.
Ninian Park was a truly wretched place during the late 80s and early 90s.
If Ninian Park is to survive for another decade major improvements will have to be made and quickly.

With little to see or do I went inside Ninian Park quite early, but the crowd soon started to filter in and the atmosphere built quite nicely.
At the front of the Grandstand was a section of new, plastic seating over which a roof extension has been erected to protect the fans from the elements.
That said, Ninian Park is a gritty, well sized stadium with an extremely passionate support and that makes for an unforgettable experience.

Having visited Ninian Park previously, it wasn’t a ground that I needed to do for the 92, but I’d quite enjoyed the trip last time, and so when this fixture came around, I decided to make my second visit to the South Wales venue.
Thanks to that, we were kept inside the ground for a good 20 minutes afterwards, before finally being let out, with me managing to slip out of the police escort and make my own way back to the station, via Leckwith Stadium and Cardiff Arms Park to take a few pictures.
With Cardiff having plans to move, it will be a shame to lose Ninian Park from the 92, as whilst it may not be the most friendly of grounds to visit, it is a real classic, and a splendid affront to modern stadiums such as the Walkers or Madejski Stadium.
