Nintendo has the reputation of historically being both the oldest intact company in the video game console market and one of the most influential and well-known console manufacturers, as well as being the most dominant entity in the handheld console market.
Nintendo decided that to avoid facing the same problems, they would only allow games that received their "Seal of Quality" to be sold for the Famicom, using a chip called 10NES to "lockout" or prevent unlicensed games from working.
Nintendo may be retiring the Game Boy line in favor of the Nintendo DS The Game Boy has been known for putting over a dozen other portable systems out of business (including Nintendo's other attempts such as the Virtual Boy).

Nintendo originally planned to release the adapter in the U.S. by the end of 2005, but it appears their plans have changed, as Nintendo has not delivered an announcement of a U.S. release with specific dates as of August 2006.
The Nintendo DS Lite was released on June 23, 2006 in Europe.

Since the Nintendo DS is compatible with all Game Boy games, the older cartridges will plug into a separate slot on the bottom of the unit; picture where the carts plug into the GBA SP system and you've got a good idea.
Every game and demo in Nintendo's DS area showed a generic mouse arrow in the exact location on the screen where the screen is being tapped.
We're still not sure why Nintendo is still insisting that this system is a third platform and not the continuation of the Game Boy line, and as of this writing the company still swears that the Nintendo DS will be separate from the Game Boy.

With Nintendo's DS and DS Lite clearly showing the most momentum in the portable gaming space (who knew that a dedicated product could trump one with more bells and whistles?), word on the the street is that Sony is expected to drop the PSP's retail price down to $150.
Given the DS Lite's already impressive battery life, we're not sure how big a market there is for a mobile battery charger, but if you want to be able to bust out a few more Electroplankton tunes on your next cross-country road trip, this may be just your fix.

I am sorry if this offends anyone but I have always been a nintendo fan boy but they are really losing my interest and giving me hand cramps trying to fly with the stylus in my left hand for star fox.
For relevance, the DS version of Pokemon comes out this Spring and the Mew is usable in that game as well.
Every single button is a note, and as a slider moves across the screen, you have to hit those notes according to the buttons shown (video).
