Ninth Doctor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Ninth Doctor refers to the ninth official incarnation of the fictional character known as the Doctor, in the long-running BBC television science-fiction series Doctor Who.
At some point, the Ninth Doctor had at least three unchronicled adventures involving the sinking of the RMS Titanic, the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963 and the eruption of Krakatoa in the 19th Century.
While much of the Ninth Doctor's melancholy, lack of patience, and hard-bitten edge could be attributed to feelings of guilt at being the sole survivor of the Time War between the Time Lords and the Daleks, he seems to find peace towards the end of his incarnation.

Ninth Doctor Adventures - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Ninth Doctor Adventures were a series of spin-off novels based on the long running BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who and published under the BBC Books imprint.
Although the canonicity of most Doctor Who spin-offs is unclear, the 2005 series episode Boom Town makes a reference to the Doctor and Rose's trip to the Justicia system.
Range consultant Justin Richards told Doctor Who Magazine that there will be no Ninth Doctor novels in 2006, and the decision as to whether to continue the Ninth Doctor Adventures as a separate range has not yet been taken.

The Doctor uses his sonic screwdriver to communicate with the crew, and he and Rose are transported to the alien ship, where they find that the occupants were killed in the crash and the ship’s computer is trying to engage the engines automatically.
The Doctor realises that she’s right and goes to apologise to Makassar while Rose gets some sleep -- but she is confronted by a ghost-like phantom of a man wearing a mask, and when she tries to find the Doctor, she is attacked by Units who force a mask onto her face.

The new Doctor behaves in a more human manner than his predecessors, perhaps tying in to the revelation that he is half-human; this is most clearly seen in his willingness to entertain romantic notions with Grace Holloway, albeit in an innocent, almost childlike manner.
Described by the Doctor as "tired of life but afraid of death", she is clearly a cheerful and warm individual but these characteristics are masked beneath a cold, distant veneer of professionalism.
Doctor Who was successful in the United Kingdom, it was a disappointment in North America, where it was broadcast during the fierce May "sweeps" period.

Doctor who?" Although referred to in the on-screen credits for nearly twenty years as "Doctor Who", the Doctor is never really referred to by that name, except in a tongue-in-cheek manner.
In the Sixth Doctor story The Trial of a Time Lord, a Time Lord with the title of the Valeyard (played by Michael Jayston) is revealed to be a potential future Doctor, existing somewhere between his twelfth and final incarnations and embodying all the evil and malevolence of the Doctor's dark side.

Rose barked back that the Doctor altered events all the time, but the Doctor explained to her (as he had to many companions in the past) that he knew what he was doing due to his years of training as a Time Lord and his centuries of experience.
So, perhaps the Ninth Doctor, decided that such a number sounded too high for him and so said he was merely 900 instead, the same way some people will prefer to say they are 39 rather than 40, even though it’s only a year’s worth of difference and such a small alteration shouldn’t logically matter.
The Doctor continued anyway, believing that since there were human colonies beyond the solar system then at least the human race would survive, but as far as he knew all the Daleks left alive were gathered around this one planet at the moment.
