A resolution, while paying homage to all the martyrs of Bhakkar, Karachi, Shah e Najaf, Phoor Gali Quetta, Punjab, Sindh Balochistan and NWFP, vowed to keep continue the struggle for the achievement of that high objectives for which the martyrs sacrificed their lives.

The badge is suspended from a straight silver-gilt bar with the the word "Nishan" in Naskh script.

Lalak Jan of NLI is the first native of Gilgit-Baltistan to receive the highest millitry award, Nishan-i-Haider, for bravery.
Its Regimental Centre is located at Bunji near Gilgit, in the Northern Areas of Pakistan.
The majority of this regiment's personnel come from the native Gilgitis, Baltis, Brushos, Wakhis and Khuwars etc. It was formed in 1973 with the amalgamation of the Northern Scouts along with its Scout wings: the Karakoram Scouts, Northern Scouts and Gilgit Scouts.

Minhas is given almost parallel treatment in Pakistan and was awarded that nation's highest award the Nishan-E-Haider and also has an air base named for him.
This is due to the fact that he tried to defect, but more importantly because the pilot who flew with him, Rashid Minhas is viewed as a hero in Pakistan.
Official accounts of Minhas' actions in Pakistan never include the name of Rahman.
