Nissan Cube - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Cube covered the gap in the Nissan lineup between the March and the Sunny.
The second generation of the Cube, released in 2002 with a more spacious interior and a modern combination of angled and curved surfaces, was based on the third generation of the March, powered by a 1.4 L engine.
With the success of the similarly-styled Scion xB in the United States, Nissan is taking under consideration exporting the third generation of the Cube as an entry-level model, which will reach the Japanese market during 2006.

 Nissan Cube
The exterior design of the Cube was executed with the aim of creating a "new cubic design," and draws on themes proposed in the Nissan Chappo concept first shown at the 2001 Geneva Motor Show.
The Cube has one of the shortest overall lengths and smallest minimum turning radii (4.4 m) of any vehicle in its class.
The Cube features Nissan's compact, lightweight e-4WD system that has been engineered around a front-wheel-drive configuration and uses an electric motor to drive the rear wheels only when 4WD capability is needed.

 HighBeam Encyclopedia - cube
CUBE [cube] in geometry, regular solid bounded by six equal squares.
The volume of a cube is equal to the product of its dimensions, and since its dimensions are equal, the volume is equal to the third power, or cube, of any one of its dimensions.
The problem of constructing a cube with a volume equal to twice that of a given cube using only a compass and a straightedge is known as the problem of the duplication of the cube and is one of the famous geometric problems of antiquity.

Nissan is preparing to sell its Cube utility-mini MPV in Europe and North America from late 2008 or early 2009, and the second-generation model to be launched then will keep the current version's boxy outline and unique styling, according to Autoweek.
The 88bhp 1.5-litre engine used in the current Cube will remain, however, meaning that improved performance will have to be achieved by reducing weight, as the basic design will take a similar outline.
The new for-Europe Cube will be built on the next-generation Renault-Nissan B-platform, also to form the basis of the next Micra, Clio, Tiida/Versa (small family cars), Modus and other related models.
