Nixon's presidency would be marked by a new spirit of detente with the Soviet Union and by the establishment of diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China, but all would be overshadowed by the tragedy of Watergate.
Nixon did expand the visibility and duties of the vice-presidency as none of his predecessors had, but those new duties were of a personal nature rather than an inherent part of the office, because they resulted more from the particular needs of President Eisenhower than from a reconstructed vision of the vice-presidency.

In 1965, during a family trip to St. Croix, Nixon wrote the story bible to a show she called "All My Children." The story revolved around the citizens of a small town, Pine Valley, named after her hometown, Pine Ridge, in the Pennsylvania valley.

It seems that I was the first one in my direct line to leave the state of Pennsylvania and the small area of Westmoreland and Allegheny Counties, making reasearch much easier.
I'm organizing this by listing my ancestors starting with my GGGGG Grandfather and working down to me. I'm leaving out anyone else but me that is still living.
About all that is known about him is that he married Jean (surname unknown) and moved to Derry Township, Westmoreland County, PA. He died there in October 1807.

The original Nixon Theatre (and adjoining Nixon Restaurant) was located in Downtown Pittsburgh on Seventh Avenue on the site of what was the Alcoa Building and across from what is now Mellon Square Park.
It was demolished in the late 40's or early '50 and the Senator Theatre on Liberty Avenue eventually became the "new" Nixon Theatre.
This is a photo of the first Nixon Theater which was demolished in June of 1950.
