  Loss of HMS Glorious
No aircraft were ranged on deck, nor were any in the air.
There were no survivors from the bridge or engineering spaces of Glorious, and no survivors that were in a position of significant command, so many tactical and technical details of the action will always remain a mystery.
No ship or shore station reported receiving Gneisenau's bogus messages, and in fact Devonshire was unaware that the Germans were attempting to jam Glorious' signals.

Unfortunately for the FAA, the war was upon them and the Fulmar was the only aircraft even approaching the performance of modern fighters that was operating on their carriers.
The FAA was fortunate with this, because every other British-designed carrier aircraft that was ordered in the same timeframe as the Firefly ran into development difficulties and failed to fly before the end of the war.
The decals are from Eagle Strike and provide markings for three aircraft: A Firefly F.I from 1771 Squadron aboard HMS "Implacable" with the British Pacific Fleet in the summer of 1945; A Firefly F.R.I from 1772 Squadron in Australia in 1945; and a Fireflyt F.I from 1770 Squadron aboard "Indefatigable" during the Sumatra oil strikes.

No one has shown me why that is so but if it is and Cam thinks the RDF-1 was installed on the plane he needs to show his proof or admit it is just his well measured opinion.
Airplanes yes, radios no. The plane was hyped as a flying laboratory and one reason may have been that such a receiver was supposedly on test.
No mention of whether it was Bendix or Western Electric, but had she had two receivers aboard the airplane she would have had to experience failures in both in order to be unable to hear transmissions from Darwin.

The reality is, no one has disputed that the Firefly was outclassed by more modern opponents but remember, just as comparing the Zero, a 1938-9 design to the Bearcat a 1944-45 design is silly, comparing the Firefly, a 1941 design to an aircraft designed in 1944-45 is equally as silly.
