With the introduction of the Soviet MiG-15 into air combat in November, 1950, in which it out-performed all aircraft then assigned to the United Nations, three squadrons of F-86s were rushed to the Far East in December.
FAA Sabres saw action in helping to foil an April 1962 coup attempt against the established government.
During the Falklands War of 1982, there was some talk of FAA Sabres being deployed to Port Stanley, but this idea was deemed impractical.
