  Bad Religion
Known for poignant, erudite lyrics and biting social commentary, Bad Religion is a punk band, formed in Los Angeles, California in 1979 by high school students Greg Graffin (vocals), Jay Bentley[?] (bass guitar) and Jay Ziskrout[?] (drums), and high school drop-out Brett Gurewitz (guitar).
No Control[?] (1989) and Against the Grain (1990) further increased the band's popularity, followed by Generator (1992).
As their popularity was not what it once was, Bad Religion departed from Atlantic Records in 2001 and returned to Epitaph.

I don't know you, punk- and I don't care how bad you may think BR have become over the course of the 90's (I stand by most of their releases): we can all put aside our differences and agree that this album is one of those rarities that makes life worthwhile.
This album is so catchy, so fun to try to sing a long with, and yet so amazingly deep and profound, that I've been known to let it hang out in the car for days.
Bad Religion is known for being one of, if not the, most influential punk band(s) of the 90s punk revival.

Bad Religion jumpstarted the So-Cal skate-punk scene with this album and it's clear to see the influence on bands like Pulley and Pennywise.
The reason so many people praise this album probably is that it's the blueprint for hundreds of punk albums and that generally the atmosphere on the album is really great.

Appropriately, the album is also a homecoming back to Epitaph after a four album stint with Atlantic.

I think that Bad Religion has a much larger perspective then most bands, and a single song doesn't embrace an isolated political or social concept, but incorporates a more dynamic view of existence.
The state of reality that creates a framework where no one can really be right without also being wrong is a complex system that won't be understood by any generation in the foreseeable future.

it was put out between their best straight forward no frills punk album: Suffer (1988)- one of the best of its kind- and their explosive, experimental, incendiary, thematically-rich, dictionary-bursting masterpiece: Against the Grain (1990)- one of the best albums period.
Bad Religion is the only band who cares (along with pennywise) about our world.
