Blondie's seventh studio album, No Exit, was released in February 1999, 17 years after their previous studio album, The Hunter, in 1982.
The album reached number 3 in the UK charts, although Blondie dabbled in all types of genres, including Pop, Reggae, and Hip-Hop.
The album spawned two UK singles - "Maria", which gave Blondie their first ever hit that went straight in at number 1 in the UK, and "Nothing Is Real But The Girl", which only managed to reach number 26.

 The Chemical Brothers
The album is released in January 2002, preceded by a single, called "Star Guitar", a sort of Balearic melodic number.
The album, "Come With Us" is less well received than previous Chemical Brothers albums, but nonetheless goes straight in at Number 1 in the UK Album charts in the first week of its release, selling 100,000 copies.
In April the title track from the album is released as a single, with remixes from Fatboy Slim (for whom the Chems remixed a track in 2001), as part of a double-A sided release, with "The Test".

Because of that image the album was banned by the British Rail, they did not allow it to be shown on television because of the complaints they were getting.
The album was also banned in several collage record stores in the states.
This was Deborah's last solo album, after DEBORAVATION Debbie could be seen singing with a jazz band called The Jazz Passengers and she was featured on a few various artiest cds.

Blondie's 1999 release, No Exit has to be the most anticipated comeback album in recent history.
Still, one shouldn't be apprehensive about buying No Exit in the least, as the band obviously has doubled its efforts in producing the best material of its career.
Thankfully, "No Exit" is not one of them (though it does have its share and is why I only gave it 3 out of 5).

To date, one of their most ambitious efforts has been the 22 minute epic, "The Ivory Gate of Dreams", from 1988's "No Exit" album, which many fans have considered to be this band's "2112".
At the very least, this record is a huge breath of fresh air in an industry that has been dominated in the past few years by an overflow of generic, pseudo-punk, metallicized hip-hop and industrial noise.
Since there are no available singles on this record, don't expect to get a chance to check it out on the radio or on eMpty TV, this is something that you will have to buy or steal in order to hear it.

In the old days, Harry and her guys covered terrific old blues and trippy, backwater pieces, popped up and pretty, punkified, otherwise unremarkable rock tunes, and flat out treated us to a show, whether live or Memorex.
No Exit is a gritty downtown incarnation that almost sounds like a cutting room castaway, filled with raw and abject moments and digressions that suggest an improvised, irrelevant feel.
The talkative "Screaming Skin" is a lyrically confused, stream of consciousness piece that sounds as if it was written on a paper bag on the subway -- and some people really like this stuff.

No Exit jumps all over the place but is still held together by Deborah Harry`s voice and the musical talents of the other three original members (Clem Burke, Jimmy Destri, and Chris Stein).
Another standout is the title track, "No Exit." It has a monster movie motif to it, and Deborah Harry raps over rocking metal riffs.
While No Exit is overall an enjoyable album and a respectable reunion of a classic band, it`s nothing truly exciting or anything they didn`t already do almost 20 years ago.

With the exception of the terrific single "Maria," Blondie's 1999 reunion album No Exit was pretty much a wash. It's taken the group five years and a lot of mishaps (9/11, lost tapes, trying to land an American record deal) to release the aptly named follow-up, The Curse Of Blondie.
Maybe it was all the trouble they went through to make the album or feeling that the pressure was off this time, but the members of Blondie sound invigorated on this outing.
While this version of Blondie is older and more sedate, it's not afraid to keep experimenting with rap, jazz, reggae, disco, and rock, but where the fusion felt forced on No Exit, here it feels natural.

NO Exit was a good album, but I like Perfect Symmetry a bit better.
Granted, it was a good album, but it was letdown to hear the dryer, less distorted tone of the guitars and an overall less aggressive approach, although the improvement in the drumming dept. was obvious.
If you look at the liner notes in Spectre, you'll see a line that says "no thanks to (name) for the 1st album cover disaster." It still was a decent album, considering they were all about 18 when they did it.

Maybe I expected to much for them to come up with an album like Parrallel lines but Maria was most certainly in the same vein.

Harry is looking good for a woman her age and the band behind her has not lost a step either, they rock with conviction with the alternative-pop pensiveness that made them international stars in the ?70?s.
Make no mistake about, these people are smart, they have it covered for all the generations that have been listening to their music since the ?70?s.
