Released around the same time of the album but not part of NoJacketRequired was another American number one, "Separate Lives", which appeared on the soundtrack to White Nights.
NoJacketRequired remains Phil Collins highest selling album, having been certified Diamond for US sales of over 10 million copies.
At first I assumed this was due to the festive nature of the occasion; but no, further inquiries revealed that it's daring new BBC policy.
It is no surprise that the same work sounded completely different upon my transfer from rush-hour road-rage in Wembley to the tranquil elegance of my friend's home; chump though I felt to have failed King's feast, I knew I'd rather have been listening in St Mark's.
Unless you're in church, however, there is something too po-faced about King's reverential approach to these pick'n'mix pieces by a composer with opera in his veins; deprived of their Italianate theatrical passion, they become rather bloodless.

NoJacketRequired signified Phil Collins' peak, but there had been a lot in the making.
There's no lyrics, but it gives thank-you's, credits, who-played what on each song and also gives info on where everything was recorded.
When Phil Collins released his third solo album"NoJacketRequired" in 1985 it hit #1 at the Billboard album chart and won a grammy for best pop album the same year.
When faced with bad weather, most businesses still believe they have no recourse (and no better answer to shareholders) but to throw up their hands and say, "Better luck next year." But the correlation between weather and earnings is not unique to the energy business.
This data is standardized and comes from a reliable third party, usually a government body such as the National Weather Service in the United States or Météo France in France.

Supposedly she's returned to the recording studio to re-do this song, I believe with the group Westlife, but I'm not definite on this.
There's no word yet as to whether this song will be released as a single, which would normally seem likely since she's re-recording it and most of her recent singles have involved duets.
However, since "Rainbow" has had such poor sales (well, in comparison to other Mariah albums) and is nearly off the Billboard 200, this is unlikely.

The winner of the 1985 Grammy for Pop Album of the Year, NoJacketRequired found Phil Collins fully embracing horn-driven pop music, drum machines, and sentimental ballads over his darker, more dramatic earlier solo material.
The record established him as a major commercial force and as one of the most recognizable voices of the 1980s.
It's not a completely satisfying recording but it is the best example of one of the most dominating and influential styles of the 1980s.

Blue-Eyed Soul numbers such as "Sussudio," "Don't Lose My Number," and the ballad "One More Night" gleaned Phil Collins a universal radio presence in 1985, and serve as three very good reasons why NoJacketRequired won the Grammy for Album of the Year.
There are two guest appearances on the album, firstly Sting on "Long Long Way To Go" and Collins' ex-Genesis bandmate Peter Gabriel (And Sting)on "Take Me Home".
The dance pop of NoJacketRequired, including this number one hit, won Collins a Grammy for Album of the Year.

NOJACKETREQUIRED reached number 1 in more countries than you can shake a drumstick at, and shows Collins at his most mature and versatile.
The album starts of with the infamous 'sussudio' which is a song that you can listen to no matter how low you are feeling because it will always cheer you up!
The last half of the album is fairly weaker, offering some of the songs that didnt fair quite as well as the others in the charts, although 'Take me home' is the one that stands out, as the song is actually meaning something else than what you may expect.
His flirtations with different genres of music have not only shown his diversity and talent but have rewarded his fans His years with Genesis, performing solo,as a session musician as well as his work with Disney have given the musical world not only a glimpse of his talent but have left their indelible mark.
It is unfortunate that due to a hearing condition we will no longer see him perform live after this Final Farewell tour.
I am sure he will be missed by fans worldwide and will look forward to his other projects.

Taylor appeared wearing a flak jacket, which he quickly shed despite a (very short) bit of heckling from the otherwise respectful crowd.
Taylor responded to all kinds of queries, ranging from whether customers could use Linux as a leverage in software price discussions with Microsoft (he said no), to whether Microsoft's shared source licensing mechanism could potentially contaminate open source developers (to which he also said no).
