  No. 31 Squadron RAF - Definition, explanation
After the War, the Squadron moved to Java, and it was whilst flying from Kemajoran, one of the Dakotas crashed and the survivors were hacked to death by Indonesian freedom fighters.
On Jan 1 1995 the Squadron was declared operational in the Suppression of Enemy Air Defences (SEAD) role equipped with the Air Launched Anti Radiation Missile (ALARM).
In 2001 No 31 Squadron moved to RAF Marham, and in 2003 formed the core of the Ali Al Salem Air Combat Wing, operating over Iraq during Operation Resinate South and Operation Telic.

 15 Squadron RAF
The squadron followed V Corps as it moved around until February 1919, when it was reduced to cadre and returned to Fowlmere, where it was finally disbanded on 31 December 1919.
This was repeated in the new squadron badge and, after a battle with the College of Heralds, it was agreed that the unit could now be No. XV squadron, an affectation that has been perpetuated.
In June 1946 the squadron took over some of the Lancaster B.Mk 1 (Special) aircraft that No. 617 Squadron had used to drop 'Grand Slam' bombs, and used them in trials with these bombs against the U-boat pens at Farge; by autumn the unit was reduced to six aircraft.

It was these aircraft that No 13 took to France as part of the Air Component of the BEF in September, but it found that the Lysander was inadequate for its intended role in the face of fierce German fighter opposition and by the end of May 1940 the squadron had been evacuated to Britain.
Ironically it was No 111 Squadron that was re-numbered No 14 on 1 February 1920 at Ramlah in Palestine.
XV's Buccaneers and crews were absorbed into co-located No 16 squadron on 1 July 1983 and on the same day a new XV Squadron began training at Laarbruch equipped with the Tornado GR Mk 1, officially reforming on 1 September 1983.

 15R Squadron
XV Squadron, Royal Flying Corps, was formed at South Farnborough on 1 March 1915.
It was in September 1941 that XV Squadron received the Stirling LS F, donated by Lady MacRobert, in memory of her 3 sons who were all killed in flying accidents: two were killed in action with the RAF in 1941.
By the end of 1943, XV Squadron had re-equipped with the Avro Lancaster, the aircraft that was to see out the last two years of the war.

The skills taught by XV(R) Sqn to lead a pair is only the foundation level, as once with their new squadron they are unlikely to do this as they will go back over some of the work done at the OCU but in more detail, while also learning about more complex weapons and tactics.

Stirling W7624 of No 15 Squadron took off from RAF Bourn, Cambridgshire on 27 August 1942 for a raid on Kassel city, Germany.
Stirling W7624 belonged to XV Squadron, a squadron still flying today, albeit as an Operational Conversion Unit rather than a front-line sqaudron.

RAF Lossiemouth was built during 1938 and 1939 and opened on May 1, 1939 with No 15 Flying Training School as the major unit.
In April 1940, the station was handed over to Bomber Command and No 20 Operational Training Unit was formed together with No 46 Maintenance Unit.
At the end of the World War II hostilities, the station became a satellite of RAF Milltown in Coastal Command before becoming HMS Fulmar of the Royal Navy in 1946, the primary task being Fleet Air Arm operations.
