 | | My research has centered on the experimental investigation of regulatory mechanisms in ovarian function, especially on the control and cellular mechanism of oocyte meiosis using amphibian, insect and teleost ovaries as experimental model systems. |
 | | The research has focused on the effect of steroids and cytoskeleton-active agents such as taxol, nocodazole, soluble acrylamide and colcemid on the processes of nuclear migration within the oocyte and dissolution of the nuclear envelope during meiotic cell division (prophase I - metaphase I transition). |
 | | This work employed molecular approaches including the use of monoclonal antibody probes for cytoskeletal proteins, Western blotting, confocal immunofluorescence microscopy, and morphological analysis at the ultrastructural level using immunogold procedures with transmission EM. |
