  Peter Suber, "Nomic"
Nomic even makes some rules explicit in order to make them amendable, when in most games they are implicit —rules to obey the rules, rules that players each start with zero points, and so on.
After Nomic was first published in Scientific American, a German philosopher wrote to me insisting that Rule 101 (that players should obey the rules) should be omitted from the Initial Set and made part of a truly immutable shell.
Nomic has more the continuity of a legal system than a normal game: it is a rule-governed set of processes, systems, and directives undergoing constant rule-governed change.

Shirky: Nomic World: By the players, for the players
Nomic is a game in which changing the rules is a legitimate move within the game world, which makes it closer to the condition of a real government than to, say, Everquest.
Nomic rules are alterable, and they're also explicit - one of the really interesting things about designing a game in which changing the rules is one of the rules, is you have to say much more carefully what the rules actually are.
Now in theory Nomic shouldn't allow such a thing, since such rules could be repealed, so this group of players specifically targeted unrepealability as the core virtue of all their proposed changes.

 Mornington Nomic
Mornington Nomic (MN) is an ongoing and remarkably successful effort to evolve a playable Mornington Crescent ruleset.
Many Nomics contain sub-games within their rules, diversions and occupations which help to keep interest in the game going or which provide a hook for newer players (pure rules lawyership often being a dry and forbidding introduction).
The object of the Nomic itself, however, is usually either to win outright (the definition of 'winning' being as mutable as the rest of the ruleset), or to 'scam' - that is, to paralyse the game by tying the rules into such knots that play cannot continue.

 Peter Suber, Nomic
Nomic has been used to stimulate artistic creativity, simulate the circulation of money, structure group therapy sessions, train managers, and to teach public speaking, legal reasoning, and legislative drafting.
For me, it was intended to illustrate and embody the thesis of my book, The Paradox of Self-Amendment, that a legal "rule of change" such as a constitutional amendment clause may apply to itself and authorize its own amendment.
On usenet, Nomic announcements and discussions are posted chiefly to rec.games.abstract and somewhat less often to rec.games.pbm.

Being so lite the nomic isn't going to sink as well as a heavy tool (physics...) but the pick is nice and sticks well.
And if you give a look to Nomic you can understand that its shape is very similar to Cassin: the same handle with the same angle between the pick and the handle, the same pick shape with the same teeth near the shaft!

Just curious on if the Nomic has the right cables I need to connect everything and if the PTT works alright on the radio.
The wiring necessary is almost the same as connecting a TNC to a radio (HT) and often there are guidelines for doing that in the radio's Owners Manual.
The RIGblaster nomic experimenter would be the best solution as it comes with a mic cable that has the RJ45 on one end but the other end is just stripped and tinned wires allowing you to attach your own 2.5 and 3.5 plugs and appropriate resistors if necessary"
