		All non-permanent University staff who work at least 2/3 of the normal work week for their occupational group are eligible for coverage under the University Sick Leave plan when they have completed 13 weeks of consecutive service with the University.
		All non-permanent University staff working the required number of hours and meeting the consecutive service requirement, who are absent from work due to a disability, will be paid by the University under the terms of this Sick Leave policy.
		Staff members are required to inform their Department Head or Supervisor of their illness as soon as possible and to provide an estimate of the length of their absence.

		TERRITORIAL Army staff are trying to sue Geoff Hoon, the Defence Secretary, for unfair dismissal after being told they will be sacked to make way for supposedly cheaper civil servants.
		The action is the first of its kind to be taken against the Ministry of Defence, which has previously been able to avoid unfair dismissal actions by invoking Crown immunity.
