 Jerry P. Gollub
He does experiments on nonlinear and non-equilibrium phenomena, including studies of chaotic mixing phenomena in ordinary and polymeric fluids, granular materials, instabilities, and pattern formation.
Gollub was elected to membership in the National Academy of Sciences in 1993, and became a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1992.
We have investigated the dynamics of rapidly rotating granular material, with the goal of understanding the extent to which a hydrodynamic description has to be modified to account for the response to rapid changes of shear.

Martial arts students influence the past
Henry Stapp had acted as an independent monitor in Schmidt's experiments, and while "acknowledging the inherent heresy of the idea", he decided to look further into the possibility that the martial arts students had actually influenced the past.
Stapp has responded by saying that he had yet to calculate the size of the effect his nonlinear term would have on energy levels in the nucleus.
Stapp claims that the nonlinearity he has introduced would allow a mental influence on the outcome of quantum measurements.

Theatre have become an art form "that is both narrative and nonlinear, both individual and collective—a theatre that avoids simple naturalism and unheightened daily experience in order to present social and individual reality on its stages" (Szanto 165)—in postmodernism.
Theatre, according to Hubner, is distinguished from the other arts in that it is institutional and social in nature (5).
Epic theatre uses narrative (not plot), episodic scenes, montage (not dramatic development), curves (not linear development), and scenes that jump (not cause and effect).

Strongly linked to movements in the visual arts and the early cinema, modernism is often marked by shifts in perspective, nonlinear narrative development, and experimentation with a kind of literary collage effect that attempted to do with language what artists were doing with paint.
The collected entries draw rich connections between literary modernism of this period and other disciplines, precursors and successors, and modernist writers in other languages.
While the main focus of this volume is English-language literary modernism from 1890 to 1939, the scope is actually much broader.

 PINA BAUSCH-LA Times Review
Bausch's celebrated Tanz-theater Wuppertal last appeared in California12 years ago at the Olympic Arts Festival in Pasadena and since then she has created for the company a series of internationally acclaimed, site-specific works drawn from experiences and observations in Lisbon, Palermo, Madrid and Vienna.
In three-and-a-half hours of nonlinear neo-Expressionism, she does provide one cryptic collage of Hollywood one-liners complete with film clips from "Dark Victory" and "The Postman Always Rings Twice." There's also a character vignette featuring an insanely overenthusiastic cheerleader (Julie Stanzak) and a glimpse of a Venice skater--with water bottles on his feet instead of skates.
Bausch doesn't exactly buy into his worldview but she displays great compassion for the congenitally deluded--even for the arrogant landlord (Dominique Mercy) who stalks through the forest primeval proclaiming, "As far as you can see, all of this is mine!"
