Obtaining data on nonvitamin, nonmineral supplements has been identified as a priority and increasing knowledge about herbals is an educational need of dietetics professionals.
Therefore, some researchers from the University of North Florida designed a study to quantify the prevalence of nonvitamin, nonmineral supplement usage among university students, as well as to identify supplements consumed and rationale for usage.
Dietetics professionals working in the area of weight loss need to question and counsel clients about nonvitamin, nonmineral supplements, especially on those supplements that are dangerous but are still being used by a number of people.

10/1/97 BLM Final Rule 43 CFR 2090--Nonmineral Entries on Mineral Lands
Subpart 2093 sets forth the various statutory authorities governing nonmineral entries on mineral lands, and describes BLM procedures for processing claims and other actions under those statutes.
Background and Discussion of Final Rule The regulations at 43 CFR part 2090, subpart 2093 repeat language of various statutes dating back to 1902 that govern nonmineral entries on mineral lands, and describe BLM's procedures for processing claims and other actions under those statutes.
The portions of subpart 2093 that contain internal procedures have become largely obsolete since nonmineral entries on mineral lands are extremely rare and are unlikely to become any more widespread, given the scarcity of land on which such entries could be available in the foreseeable future and the repeal of the homestead laws.

CONCLUSIONS: Examining nonvitamin, nonmineral supplement use in combination with prescription/over-the-counter medications in elderly persons is important to identify the potential risks of interactions.

Asian Development Outlook 2004 Update - Papua New Guinea - ADB.org
Growth, while broad based, remains heavily dependent on exports of primary commodities: gold accounts for approximately 37% of total exports, copper for 20%, agriculture for 19%, and crude oil for 18%.
However, the volume of gold exports declined by 12.2% from 18.8 tons in the last quarter of 2003 to 16.5 tons in the first quarter of 2004, while copper production fell by 33% from 69,100 to 46,300 tons in the same period.
While higher commodity prices and improvements in fiscal management led to a reversal of the 3-year contraction from 2003, political instability and frequent government reshuffles are still hampering the Government’s ability to implement structural reforms, such as reducing government payroll numbers.

Surface Mining Method - Open Pit   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-10)
At another operation it may be desirable to completely separate two kinds of ore, as for example, a low- grade deposit where one kind of "oxide" ore must be treated by acid leach, but a second kind of "sulfide" ore must be treated by different methods
The grade and tonnage of material available will determine how much waste rock can be stripped, and there is often an ultimate limit to the pit that is determined more by the economics of removing overburden than a sudden change in the ore deposit from mineral to nonmineral bearing material.
The ultimate pit limit and the slope of the pit walls are therefore determined as much by economics and engineering as by geological structure.

Public Information Notice: IMF Concludes 2004 Article IV Consultation with Papua New Guinea
Papua New Guinea's medium-term economic outlook as outlined in the government's development strategy is to achieve real GDP growth of 2½ percent annually over the period 2004-09, with growth in nonmineral activity increasing gradually to about 3½ percent by the end of the forecast period.
The external current account is projected to move toward approximate balance during 2006-09, with higher nonmineral exports only partly offsetting the decline in mining and petroleum exports as existing resources are depleted.
The main fiscal challenge is to ensure that the budget deficit averages under 1 percent of GDP in 2005 and beyond to permit a gradual decline in the public debt-to-GDP ratio.
