The province of Nonthaburi is located only 20 km to the northwest of Bangkok and covers an area of only 622 sq km.
It was built during the Ayutthaya period and extensively renovated during the reigns of kings Rama II and Rama IV.
The temple is situated on Bang Kruai-Bua Thong Rd. The gable of the niche that leads into the bot and the murals on the interior walls have designs characteristic of the Nonthaburi school of art.

You see, in comparison to this giant, the population of Nonthaburi, for example, - and the question whether to include it or not - doesn't really matter that much anymore.....

Nonthaburi is easy to get to by car,bus or boat.There are old temples,markets and nice small restaurants everywhere.A nice way to travel around is by rickshaw (samlor), which you can still do here.This is a pleasant way to tour around and check out the area.

Some durian orchards remain in the Nonthaburi area, though, and during the season it's still one of the best places in the Bangkok area to find superb durians— particularly very large ones.
(Nonthaburi can easily be reached via the Bangkok river ferry boats — it's the last stop up the river to the north.) These huge Nonthaburi durians (7 kg or more) certainly look impressive, and one is enough to feed many people, but I've generally found the quality to be better in normal-sized fruit.
