Nordic theory - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nordic theory (or Nordicism) was a theory of racial supremacy prevalent in the late 19th and early 20th century, which claimed that North European peoples constitute a “master race” because of their innate racial capacity for leadership.
Nordic theory was influential in Western Europe and North America during the early 20th century and was a major influence on Nazi ideology.
The Nordic race was thought to be prevalent in northern Europe, especially, but not exclusively, among speakers of the Germanic languages, and was characterized by tall stature, wide shoulders, long head- and facial form, straight and fine blond, red, or light brown hair, and blue, grey or green eyes.

 The Nordish Race
The first two are large-headed Upper Palaeolithic survivors, while the Nordic race, that stereotypically tall, blond, blue-eyed race which most people associate with names such as "Germanic", "Teutonic" and the like, appeared in northwestern Europe during the Iron Age in association with the Keltic and Germanic cultures.
Carleton S. Coon in The Races of Europe (1939) holds that the modern Nordic race is a blend of two archaic Mediterranean types, the Corded or Battle-axe type and the Danubian type, and that it is such little more than a pigment phase of the Mediterranean race.
The Borreby race can be found on the northern German plain, on the Danish isles, on the west coast of Sweden, and in its greatest concentration in Jæren, a coastal district of western Norway.

Racing under sunny skies and brisk Minnesota temperatures, the mass start freestyle event sent the skiers into the woods on a three-lap race.
With the course melting underfoot, race organizers first chose to delay course inspection until 4:00 pm (in hopes that the course would be firmer in later day temps), and then cancelled it all together for the sake of maintaining the best possible course conditions.
Not only did this challenge skiers in finding a suitable source of kick for the classic race (individual start 10k for men, 5k for women), it also meant that the trails were going to be rocket fast.” The numerous ups and downs, most notably the perilous "rollercoaster", took their toll on the inexperienced Finlandia team.

Mediterranean race - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nordic race is shown in bright red; green indicates the Alpine race; yellow, the Mediterranean race.
The Mediterranean race was thought to be prevalent in southern Europe, parts of North Africa, and the Middle East, and was characterised by moderate to short stature, narrow shoulders, long skull (dolichocephalic), dark hair, dark eyes and complexion.
By the late nineteenth century, in Germany, Britain and the USA it was common for white supremacists to promote the merits of the blond, blue-eyed Nordic race as the most advanced of human population groups: the "master race".

This natural inferiority of non-Nordic races is attested to by the fact that the iris of the eye and the hair, and in worse cases even the skin is pigmented.
While it was true that a "true" Nordic (Nordic genotype) could not be distinguished from a "pseudo" Nordic (Nordic only in physical type) it seemed reasonable (at least to Guenther) to presume that where one found a higher incidence of Nordic morphological traits one would find a higher incidence of Nordic psychic traits.
