Noriko Matsueda, born on December 18, 1971, in Tochigi, began her musical education at a very early age.
In 1995, Noriko Matsueda was given her first solo work, which was to compose the score for Bahamut Lagoon, beginning her professional collaboration with Takahito Eguchi.
Matsueda joined forces with Eguchi once more in 1999 to create the score for the racing RPG Racing Lagoon, which took a much more electronic approach compared to their other works.

One of Square's most underrated and often overlooked composers, Noriko Matsueda, started her career at Square in 1995 to compose for the Square/G-Craft strategy-rpg Front Mission along with the highly talented Yoko Shimomura.
Matsueda's next job, although very small, was to compose one of the boss themes to Chrono Trigger, for them only to be arranged by Nobuo Uematsu.
A year later Matsueda was presented with a challenging task: write the score to the sequel of Front Mission 2, on her own.

The score to Front Mission 2 is still quite different from its prequel, in which Matsueda incorporates an atmospheric, airy sound to most of her tracks, while retaining the epic feel of the first, mostly in the event and battle themes.

Like some of the other composers that ended up working for Square, Noriko Matsueda started her musical education at a very young age.
Noriko joined Square in 1994 and one of her first projects was to work on a singular track for the game entitled Chrono Trigger with the aid of Nobuo Uematsu and Yasanori Mitsuda.
In 1996 however, things progressed and she was given her first principle title to work on, Bahamut Lagoon.

Song Originally Composed by: Noriko Matsueda Other Information: "Bahamut Lagoon" is an awesome strategy RPG by Squaresoft that has probably the best non-Uematsu soundtrack in a Squaresoft game.
This song was played during the beginning of Chapter 10, "Rainbow Bridge." There's supposed to be the sound of bubbles popping in the background, but that can't be done with the MIDI tracking program I use.

The Front Mission OSV is a very good soundtrack featuring my two favorite female composers: Yoko Shimomura and Noriko Matsueda.
I think that this was actually Matsueda’s first game music project, and knowing that just makes the impression greater.
I just hope that Shimomura and Matsueda will team up sometime again with their new matured abilities and experience.

Yoko Shimomura and Noriko Matsueda have done a fine job with Front Mission.
On the flip side of these belligerent themes are Matsueda’s more moderate, contemporary ones.
Despite there being a low number of Matsueda tracks I like (I do like all of Shimomura’s tracks), most of her music is more than appropriate for Front Mission, and it at least offers variety of style.
