Normal distribution   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-09)
The normal distribution is an approximation to the distribution of values of a characteristic.
The exact shape of the normal distribution depends on the mean and the standard deviation of the distribution.
Although the range of values in the movie differs dramatically, changes in standard deviation do not affect the mean, and changes in the mean do not affect the standard deviation.

philjohn.com - movie reviews: book of shadows: blair witch 2
Movies like 'Scream' posing as "scary movies" are anything but scary, yet they have made horror a hip phenomenon, or rather, what they consider to be horror.
The first Blair Witch movie was about a group of kids going into the woods searching for some ancient myth, being totally unprepared both mentally and in terms of equipment.
This is a "real" movie, with a soundtrack - which is extraordinary, to say the least - and filmed with the help of a movie camera and lots of sfx and vfx stuff to make it real, not giving away too much, however.

NORMAL does this brilliantly and demonstrates how Americans at least "normal" ones are so aroused or unsettled by sexual matters that they would rather impeach a President for exposing himself and let another one off for bombing another country (Cambodia) illegally.
However, being "normal" is a subjective issue because for some, "normal" is where a man is a man, and a woman is a woman.
Nor would this exchange of insults culminating in a broken nose be likely to be the balm that mends the rift in their rocky relationship either, but the movie seems to suggest that after one altercation, things are all better now and the son has come around to the father's point of view.

Casio Exilim EX-Z850 Review: 8. Movie Mode: Digital Photography Review
The EX-Z850's predecessor (the EX-Z750) was sold very much on its movie capabilities, and a year later there are still few cameras that come close to offering the range of movie options found on the Z750.
The Z850 adds even more features; a 'movie light' - you can turn the AF illuminator (which is a 'white light LED' - as often seen on cellphone cameras) on to provide a little extra light when shooting in low light at short distances and an 'anti shake' DSP.
Movie quality is frankly a little disappointing, particularly when compared to the excellent results produced by the EX-Z750.

In a normal movie, the first act would set up the dissapearance and as the movie goes along, the characters would find things out until at the end, she would be found.
Most scenes don't really move the plot forward, but show you different aspects of the characters and how their relationships are strained and how even though they are rich, they are bored and lonely.
It is a movie that follows a group of seemingly happy young beautiful rich people on their search for their friend and along the way it reveals the true and complex nature of these sad, imperfect and bored people.

While normal movie viewing on IMAX may quickly become indistinguishable from that of viewing the same movie on a normal screen (given the regularity of the viewer that it), 3D on IMAX offers a world of a difference.

 INKPOT MOVIE REVIEWS: Normal Life
But if most of those movies have their roots in pulp fiction, exploring a modern myth of the doomed rebels on the run, NORMAL LIFE takes a much more psychologically realistic look at the phenomenon.
As in those movies, there's the danger that the performance seems mannered, a collection of screwy tics and tantrums designed for the Oscar presentation piece.
Pam's final scene takes place at the edge of the suburbs, where wild bushes grow -- symbolically the frontier, the outer limits of her society, but also quite literally the end of the road, where there is nowhere left to go but to the final tragic denouement.

But movie screens are not square -- they are very wide for their height.
In an IMAX projector, the film is so heavy and large that a projector cannot use a claw to move it, and it is hard to hold such a big film frame perfectly flat with respect to the lens.
