  Norman Doyle, 85, insurance salesman - The Boston Globe
Norman Doyle was one of those fortunate few in 1941, but he gave it up to serve in the Navy during World War II.
Doyle, a lifelong resident of Newburyport who was a longtime school committee member and worked as an insurance salesman, died Wednesday at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Doyle leaves two daughters, Kathleen A. LaMontagne of Vassalboro, Maine, and Maura A. of Newburyport; a son, Kevin C. of Amesbury; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
