Geisler, why is the issue of the Resurrection so important?_ Dr. Geisler: Because we're not talking about one of the trivials of Christianity, we're talking about one of the essentials.
Newsletter: _If that's the case, then what question should we be asking?_ Dr. Geisler: We should ask: "Do you believe that Jesus was raised in the _same physical body in which he died?_" That's the crucial question, because if the body that died didn't come back to life, the Devil won and God lost.

Norman Geisler pretends to "debate" Farrell Till
Geisler's opening speech consisted of an effort to establish the "reliability" of the New Testament manuscripts.
Since Geisler spoke entirely from previously prepared manuscripts, he made no attempts to respond to these points, except when they came up during the 30-minute period of responses to questions from the audience.
The only attempt that Geisler made to rebut this argument was made during the question-answer session when he incorrectly said that bodily resurrections had not been claimed for any of the pagan saviors, so they were not "parallel" to the resurrection of Jesus.

 CHOSEN BUT FREE?
In Dr. Geisler's case, it is readily apparent that, for him, the doctrine of election in particular, and Calvinism in general, is subject to this frailty.
When Geisler finally does address the passage, it is twisted beyond recognition by ignoring the clear logic of the passage in favor of an explanation which must be wrenched out of the natural flow of the text.
Geisler is absolutely correct when he says that "Words have limits to their meaning by context." Unfortunately, Geisler never examines the context in order to determine that meaning.

The Other Side of the Coin: A Source Review of Norman Geisler's Chapter - FARMS Review
Geisler, apparently unaware of the 1981 edition, again follows the Tanners' use of the 1964 version and makes the erroneous assumption that it is the one being used "today"—the mistake reveals the source of his information.
Norman Geisler quotes Mormon Doctrine four times (items 12, 67, 71, and 99 in the supplement) in his chapter, but only one (item 12) is taken from the 1958 edition; the other three are from 1966.
Geisler does not have one quotation in his section on the JST that is not found in the Tanner volume, and he uses only those portions of the quotations which are available therein.

Geisler's handling of the deuterocanonical issue is so mortally flawed that I question whether you would choose to defend it.
If, however, you feel that Dr. Norman Geisler is correct, that the deuterocanonical books were foreign to the Roman Catholic canon of Scripture until 1546, when they were "added" in reaction to the Reformers, then at least we have a clear focus for discussion and debate.

Geisler repeatedly refernces several Scriptures to prove his point, but he rarely interacts with those verses to determine their true meaning.
Geisler does an admirable job of demonstrating that if spiritual death is conceived of in the way that traditional Calvinist's do, then the second death can be nothing else but annihalation accompanied by inability to anything, and this view is to be rejected as unscriptural.
Geisler nicely illustrates how traditional Calvinism is inconsistent on several key issues, and cannot effectively deal with the problem of evil and the source of human actions.

Geisler's reputation is one of being an outstanding philosopher, a Thomistic philosopher in particular.
Therefore, I think Geisler ends up creating a false choice where the reader must either decide that Geisler's view is correct without having much Biblical argumentation to support it, or they must conclude that Geisler is out to lunch on this issue because he is substituting human philosophy in place of Scriptural exegesis.
