The islands are much smaller and lower in stature than their northern and western neighbors which gives them a more arid profile with cactus growing at all levels, even down to the beach.
Treasure Point Caves on Norman Island is comprised of three caves at water level which yielded a treasure horde to some local islanders many years ago, and there are still tales of lost treasure buried on the island.
To the north of Norman Island is Pelican Island, little visited, apart from a small group of rocks known as "The Indians" in the west which attract scores of boaters, snorkelers and divers whenever the conditions are amenable.

Let me make this absolutely clear: No water rights have been given away around Norman Island or any island in the BVI by this Government, nor will any be given away by this government.
We are currently in negotiations with this group, as we are with potential developers for Beef Island and Scrub Island, as well as local developers on Jost Van Dyke and Virgin Gorda.
Regarding the specifics of the negotiations for the Norman Island development, there has been no request or application for water rights around Norman Island nor do I expect that there would be such a request.
