Van Brocklin played on two championship teams in the National Football League, the 1951 Los Angeles Rams and the 1960 Philadelphia Eagles.

Van Brocklin’s performance in the 1951 title game against the Cleveland Browns, however, was the highlight of the season, as his 73-yard touchdown pass to Tom Fears sealed the Rams’ 24-17 victory.
Van Brocklin won a second passing title in 1952, with 1736 yards and a 55.1 percent completion rate, and when Waterfield retired after that season, Van Brocklin took sole custody of the team’s quarterbacking.
In 1958 Van Brocklin was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles, where he was given complete control of the team’s offense.

Norm Van Brocklin was a standout quarterback for 12 seasons in the National Football League, the first nine with the Los Angeles Rams.
Still, Van Brocklin won the NFL passing title in both 1950 and 1952, even though he was playing only half of the time on offense.
It was also in 1951 that Van Brocklin threw a 73-yard pass to Tom Fears that gave the Rams a 24-17 victory over the Browns and the only NFL title the Rams had won since moving to Los Angeles.
