Kingston Airport (Norman Rogers Airport) was constructed in 1940 with the City of Kingston assuming full responsibility for the airport's operation and development in 1972.
The airport is named for the Honourable Norman Rogers, MP for Kingston and the Islands, who was first elected to the House of Commons in 1935.
The Honourable Norman Rogers was killed in a plane crash on June 10, 1940, while on Government business.
