  North American Baptist Conference - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
German Baptist Churches were organized in Illinois, Missouri, New York, Ontario, and Wisconsin in the 1840's and early 1850's.
The churches organized a conference in 1851 in Philadelphia, named the "Conference of Ministers and Helpers of German Churches of Baptized Christians, usually called Baptists." Another conference was formed in 1859 in Springfield, Illinois.
The NABC had 64,565 members in 444 churches in the United States and Canada in 2002 (137 churches with 16,859 members in Canada and 307 churches with 47,706 members in the U.S.).

This is the oldest North American Baptist Conference Church.
In the 1840's and early 1850's German Baptist Churches were organized in upper New York state, in Ontario, in Wisconsin, in Missouri, and in Illinois.
North American Baptist Conference was restructured into 21 smaller units called "Associations." One of the largest is the Alberta Baptist Association (ABA) with 54 congregations.

August 30, 2005 - Even 150 miles west of Hurricane Katrina’s devastation, North American Baptists are feeling the effects of one of the worst storms on record.
NAB farmers in the area, like NAB Conference Treasurer Jackie Loewer, said he was grateful the storm veered east sparing their crops so they could continue their rice harvest.
National and state Baptist relief teams are on their way to the most stricken areas to work in concert with the Red Cross, Salvation Army, other agencies and the US Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), reported Baptist World Aid Director Paul Montacute.
