The North China Craton is composed of several major blocks that have been heavily titled over time as a result of collisions with other continental land masses.
For most of the Paleozoic, it was located in the extreme north of the Earth, often being the northernmost land in the world until it collided with Siberia to comprise the last stage in the formation of Pangaea during the Triassic.
The climate of the North China Plain is humid but continental, with most precipitation occurring between June and September, though significant falls in winter do occur in the southern part of the region.

 DPRK Briefing Book : China
In the past, North Korea and China were often called "as close as lips to teeth", and North Korea was seen as China's little brother.
For China, this all leads to the growing geopolitical importance of South Korea, reducing its strategic and geopolitical interests in North Korea Besides its diplomats, Chinese academicians also express their fear that China could face a terrible predicament unless North Korea actually does give up its nuclear programs and weapons.
North Korea's continuing nuclear crisis, coupled with the 1993 firing of a Nodong missile and the 1998 firing of a Daepodong missile, as well as spy-ship incidents, has disturbed the regional waters, prompting changes in Japan's traditional pacifist military posture.

While his image in most of the world is that of a ruthless, bloodthirsty conqueror, Genghis Khan is an iconic and beloved figure in Mongolia, where he is seen as the father of the Mongol Nation (see also Mongolia).
Before becoming a Khan, Temüjin eliminated and united many of the nomadic tribes of north East Asia and Central Asia under a social identity as the "Mongols." Mongol Nation is a term sometimes widely used to refer to the unified administrative rule of Central Asian confederations by Genghis Khan who was the most successful.
Starting with the invasion of Western Xia and Jin Dynasty in northern China and consolidating through numerous conquests including the Khwarezmid Empire in Persia, Mongol rule across the Eurasian landmass radically altered the demography and geopolitics of these areas.

In China, north and south, agriculture, pottery and stone polishing occurred approximately at the same time.
China's civilisation was divided by the Yangshao culture in the west (cultures bearers were called Xia 夏) and the Longshan culture in the east (bearers called Yi 夷), a theory that was valid into the 1950es when it was revised by the discovering of Longshan cultural sites within the Yangshao area.
This theory was supported by the tradional sinocentric historiography of China and by the simple fact that archeology in China's south was far less developed as in the Central Plain.

Northern and southern China - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
As such, the boundary between northern and southern China does not follow provincial boundaries; it cuts through Shaanxi, Henan, Anhui, and Jiangsu, and creates areas such as Hanzhong (Shaanxi), Xinyang (Henan), and Xuzhou (Jiangsu) that lie on an opposite half of China from the rest of their respective provinces.
The concepts of northern and southern China originate from differences in climate, geography, culture, and physical traits; as well as several periods of actual political division in history.
Northern China is too cold and dry for rice cultivation (though it does happen today with modern technology) and consists largely of flat plains, grasslands, and desert; while Southern China is warm and rainy enough for rice and consists of lush mountains cut by river valleys.

In North China, Cenozoic basalts were erupted in association with formations of graben basins and their regional boundary faults.

In the north the TF and KYTF are south-vergent faults that juxtapose Paleozoic basement with Tertiary sediments.

Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns also indicated the United States would not grant North Korea the direct talks it is seeking in the wake of the North's test-firing of seven missiles, including some that possibly could reach the American continent.
The diplomatic goal for the U.S., Burns said, is to compel North Korea to return to stalled six-nation talks aimed at ridding the reclusive communist nation of its nuclear weapons program.
Last week, he expressed frustration with the slow pace of diplomacy and urged world leaders to send North Korea a strong message condemning the missile tests, which were staged in defiance of international warnings.

China had been at war with Japan since 1937 and continued the fight until the Japanese surrender in 1945.

China remained in the war, diverting 600,000 to 800,000 Japanese troops, who might otherwise have been deployed to the Pacific.
