She joined the research staff at Tsinghua University in 1986 and conducted researched on STS (Science, Technology & Society), specifically scientometrics & science development strategy from 1986 to 1988, and theory and methodology of regional development strategy and planning from 1987 to 1990.
He held a visiting position in The National University of Singapore from 1995 to 1997, and was a research fellow in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University from July 1998 to February 2001.

Power system real time monitoring, state estimation, power quality, power market operations, Fuel Cell modeling and control and its applications in power systems, hydrogen station design, and power system reliability.
From 1997 to 2000, he was a research assistant at Texas AandM University, where he developed new methodologies in state estimation observability analysis, harmonics state estimation, optimal capacitor placement and fault analysis by Prony method, and developed a tracking state estimator for power systems.
His current research areas include power system real time monitoring, nonlinear control and interface design of fuel cells, reliability unit commitment, observability analysis for state estimation, and globally optimal capacitor placement.

31 August 2005 - North China Electric Power University (NCEPU) and Mobitex Technology AB are to jointly establish a wireless communication laboratory to develop dedicated private networks for the electric power industry.
The laboratory will be based at the NCEPU campus in Beijing and will primarily promote the use of wireless data within the Chinese power industry.
As well as developing a research programme for wireless technology use in the Chinese power industry, the partnership will also see graduates and undergraduates trained to use the technology.

The present framework is open and flexible, so the objective system is easy to be developed and maintained.
Because the condition of a transformer depends on its design, present and historical operating data, and relates to its installation environment, load amounts, and so on, it is necessary to integrate all above information to evaluate transformer’s condition.
